The Social Justice Society (SJS), a 桃子视频 student group, held a Reproductive Rights March on campus during July. The mission of the event was to shed light on the injustices faced by women in health care access in the shadow of the Supreme Court鈥檚 recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

鈥淚n light of recent events we wanted to find a way to bring awareness and to put some action with our campus and with everyone here that wants to support the reproductive right鈥檚 movement and making sure that we can continue fighting so that women can have the right to have an abortion,鈥� said Jacqui Simon, SJS Co-Vice President and Physician Assistant (PA) student. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 something that鈥檚 huge for us as a healthcare school so we want to make sure that we are doing our part to try and make a difference.鈥�

SJS was created by a group of PA program students on campus following George Floyd鈥檚 death in 2020.

鈥淪tudents were looking for ways of how they could bridge gaps in justice, gaps in health care, and all around, so we created this social justice society to fight against any inequality,鈥� shared Charity Ezeamama, SJS President and PA student, Class of 2022. 鈥淚t was then adopted and expanded to include the whole student body.鈥�

In addition to marches, SJS holds a variety of events each year including food drives and blood drives. The organization is also involved with the community through healthcare, working primarily with City of Hope and Calvary Baptist churches.
