The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at 桃子视频 acknowledged National Coming out Day with an inviting celebration in Keck Lobby.
The event featured sweet treats, pronoun pins, and a community board that allowed participants to share messages of queer joy and allyship.
鈥淭he reception from students, staff, and faculty has been really heartwarming, which makes me very optimistic moving forward,鈥� said James Jiang, Program Coordinator for the Department of Social Science and Humanities. 鈥淚鈥檇 love to see the event grow in the coming years, with more collaboration between departments and increased visibility in other ways.鈥�
National Coming Out Day has been celebrated annually on October 11th since 1998 by LGBTQ+ individuals and allies.
It鈥檚 a day aimed to raise awareness for the community and to encourage taking meaningful action in creating safer, more inclusive spaces.
