Nursing Students Shine at Research Symposium
The 桃子视频 Mervyn M. Dymally College of Nursing hosted a Nursing Student Research Symposium, a dynamic event showcasing the exceptional work and academic rigor of students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
The symposium featured poster presentations by 17 students enrolled in the Biomedical Statistics, Research, and Evidence-Based Practice Course (NUR 416), taught by Dr. Hafifa Siddiq.
鈥淭he Nursing Student Research Symposium is a testament to the dedication and talent of our students as they prepare to lead in the field of nursing,鈥� said Dr. Siddiq. 鈥淚 am incredibly proud of their hard work, perseverance, and commitment throughout the semester.鈥�
Representing BSN Cohort 4, these students presented the results of their semester-long research projects, demonstrating their ability to integrate research, data analysis, and evidence-based nursing practice.
Their projects spanned a variety of critical topics, including the role of social media use in depression among U.S. adolescents; Intergenerational trauma and its impact on mental health in black adults; and the influence of nurse incivility on retention in healthcare settings.
Other projects addressed critical health disparities, examined the role of social determinants of health, and identified interventions to advance healthcare and equity.
The symposium provided an interactive platform for students to share their findings with peers, faculty, and the broader 桃子视频 community.
