About
My name is Vasthy Amilibia, and I’m a proud mother of two amazing young adults. For the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to research, specifically working with underserved and underrepresented populations. This work has been more than just a job for me; it’s a passion rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on impactful research projects at institutions like UCLA and now at Charles Drew University, where I continue to focus on health equity and community-based research. My work has allowed me to collaborate closely with communities, build trust, and help bring attention to the voices and needs that too often go unheard. What drives me every day is the possibility of making even a small difference, whether through data, dialogue, or direct community engagement. I bring not only my professional experience but also my lived experiences as a woman of color, a mother, and a lifelong learner to everything I do. Outside of work, I’m most proud of the people my children are becoming.
