Jazz at Drew Headliner Announcement Planned for 9/1
On Saturday, September 1, ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ will reveal who the headlining act is going to be for this year’s Jazz at Drew concert.
The announcement will be made on ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ’s social media channels and on the event page at Jazz at Drew’s official page.
The event is set to make a grand return on Saturday, September 21, 2024, with an impressive lineup of musical talent. Produced and hosted by ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ, this event marks a significant revival in the cultural calendar of South Los Angeles since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tickets are available for general admission, lawn seating, tables, and VIP access on the event website.
This year’s lineup includes Grammy-winning guitarist Norman Brown, renowned for his soulful guitar playing, and The Lao Tizer Band featuring Eric Marienthal, known for their eclectic jazz influences. Grammy-nominated vocal group DW3 and the dynamic Erin Stevenson, with her powerful R&B performances, will also grace the stage.
The main act, to be revealed on September 1, promises to add to the excitement. Past headliners have included illustrious names like Will Downing, Sheila E., The Ohio Players, Poncho Sanchez, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
Net proceeds from Jazz at Drew will support scholarships, student services, and pipeline programs at ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ, one of the nation’s most diverse universities and home to one of four Historically Black Medical Schools.
Jazz at Drew is expected to draw an audience of 2,000, celebrating cultural diversity and promoting ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ’s mission.
