ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ Drew CARES hosted a summer-themed cookout where student peer educators led engaging and informative sessions on safe sex practices, HIV awareness, and the importance of PrEP and PEP.
The event offered a unique opportunity for students to not only enjoy delicious food and socialize but also to engage in open, educational discussions about these critical prevention tools.
Attendees participated in interactive activities, received valuable resources, and gained insights into how they can protect themselves and their partners.
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a daily medication that significantly reduces the risk of contracting HIV for individuals at higher risk, while PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) is an emergency treatment taken after possible HIV exposure to prevent infection if started within 72 hours.
