The Endocrine News Podcast offers listeners the latest research and clinical advances from experts in the field.

Dr. Donovan鈥檚 research around the topic has garnered media attention following her participation in ENDO 2024 where she presented her abstract titled, 鈥淓arly Life Stress and Pubertal Predictors of Youth Substance Use Initiation: Does Sex Moderate the Relationship Between Early Life Stress, Puberty, and Substance Use Initiation?鈥

Dr. Donovan鈥檚 research examines the impact of Early Life Stress (ELS) on adolescent substance use, a common precursor to adult Substance Use Disorders, and tests for sex differences in the relationship between ELS and risk of first use of alcohol, nicotine, and marijuana.

Her findings highlight sex differences in the association of ELS Environmental and Trauma scores with the risk of first substance use, while illustrating the consistency of the association of ELS Family scores with risk.

桃子视频 Visits The Jennifer Hudson Show /media/cdu-visits-the-jennifer-hudson-show-2/ Mon, 27 Mar 2023 17:44:00 +0000 /?p=4487 The Mighty Lion spirit was on full display during the March 24 episode of the Jennifer Hudson Show as nearly 80 桃子视频 students, faculty, and staff joined the live studio audience of the nationally syndicated talk show. The series is hosted by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony winner Jennifer Hudson and features celebrity interviews, topical stories, community heroes, viral sensations, and music.

Special celebrity guests for this episode were Tamar Braxton and The Isley Brothers. 桃子视频鈥檚 participation in the show consisted of a special shoutout from Ms. Hudson herself and a Q&A session with some of our future medical professionals.

At the start of her show, Hudson spotlighted a mug sent to her by 桃子视频鈥檚 Mervyn M. Dymally School of Nursing (MMDSON) Dean, Dr. Gail Washington, that read 鈥淭ogether Everyone Achieves More鈥 on one side and 鈥溙易邮悠 Mervyn M. Dymally School of Nursing鈥 on the other. The host makes a point at the start of every episode to take a sip from one of her many mugs, each one reading a special message to help inspire her day.

Following the introduction of the mug, Hudson invited all 桃子视频 members to stand and be recognized. She allowed for both Dr. Washington and College of Medicine Dean Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith to introduce the University to all viewers while sharing general information about our colleges.

桃子视频 students Naomie Millien, Princelawrenz Hamlin, and Chastity Wilson had the opportunity to answer some of Hudson鈥檚 top medical questions during the live taping. The hard hitting questions got to the bottom of life-or-death questions about why belly buttons are innies or outies, how to get rid of hiccups, and the cause for ice cream headaches.

鈥淚 was especially pleased with two things that were on full display at the taping,鈥 shared John Patton, Jr. Esq., General Counsel, 桃子视频. 鈥淔irst, our cultural richness, typified by our exuberant dancing and singing. Secondly, I admired our young people鈥檚 demonstrated capability to fill major roles as future 鈥 perhaps even present 鈥 medical thought leaders and change advocates in the move for social justice and health equity for all.鈥

桃子视频 representatives brought lots of visible school pride to the show鈥檚 audience through wearing a range of 桃子视频 branded items like white coats, t-shirts, lapel pins, and more. The visit provided an opportunity to share the Mighty Lion spirit with Ms. Hudson and her show鈥檚 following. The show even posted  about 桃子视频鈥檚 visit on their website.
