Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program provides part-time jobs for undergraduates and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student鈥檚 course of study. FWS is offered to all students that meet the eligibility listed below. FWS funds are granted on a first-come-first-served basis. Once enough students are hired to utilize all Federal Work-Study funds, FWS hiring will discontinue.
Students are employed with on-campus and off-campus partners. Students receive an allocation of funds to be earned through part-time employment. FWS employees are paid twice a month, on the 10th and 25th. The current hourly wage for FWS is $20.00/hour. Students may only work a maximum of 20 hours per week.
FWS students are awarded the first date of the academic year (usually the end of August). You will be appointed to work during the Fall and Spring. Summer work may be available upon request.
